Even launches an innovative project focused on reducing carbon-gas emissions in the construction sector

The pioneering initiative will involve material and service suppliers

São Paulo, May 6, 2011 – Even Construtora e Incorporadora S.A. – EVEN (BM&FBovespa: EVEN3), with operations in the states of São Paulo, Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro and Rio Grande do Sul and a focus on residential developments with units priced up to R$500,000,announces the creation of a program to reduce carbon-gas emissions in the construction sector.

Two years of work were required to develop and complete the Company’s carbon in-ventory. The greatest challenge was creating and adapting a methodology that would allow the Company to measure the levels of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. “Con-struction has its inherent characteristics, such as long production cycles and the various stages of works, which is why we had to design a method that reflected the dynamics of the segment,” said Silvio Gava, the Technical and Sustainability Officer at Even. .
